Pet Travel and Export Services
Whether travelling domestically or internationally it is important that your pet is in satisfactory health to travel, so a complete physical examination is always recommended. Standard vaccinations and heartworm prevention must be up to date for safe travel & in some cases this is a requirement
“AMS DAFF Accredited veterinarians are fully licensed for preparation of your pet for international travel “
For overseas travel AMS are able to provide you with a pet export service for your pet or pets. At AMS we have DAFF accredited veterinarians who are licensed and can perform the necessary vaccinations, tests, certifications and paperwork required to export your pet and if required to ensure an orderly return to Australia.
DAFF Biosecurity (Australian Quarantine / AQIS) control the import and export of animals in Australia and only DAFF-accredited vets are able to carry our much of the required work
Your AMS Accredited veterinarian can discuss the export process, the importing country’s requirements and arrange the relevant treatments, inspections & documentation to be completed.
Early planning is vital and initial contact should be made well in advance of your intended travel date as some countries require that animals receive a rabies vaccination at least 30 days before departure. Import permits may be required for the entry of animals in some countries.
If there is any likelihood that your pet will be returning to Australia, it is imperative that you discuss this also. Animals cannot be imported (or returned) directly to Australia from some countries. AMS can advise you before your pet leaves regarding re-import.
