Thank you to all our clients
At AMS we really want to do the best we can for you and your pet. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a sick or injured pet get well again.
We also love being able to watch a new puppy or kitten grow with a new family.
Of course it is even better when we receive reviews and letters of appreciation like the ones below.
Thank you to all out clients for your kind words and please do not hesitate to let us know if we are doing a good job or if we can improve in any way.

Still love the Alexandria Vet. The current vets are lovely and will follow up appointments with phone calls to check how our dogs are doing. We still drop in just for a pat and a hello – it’s a great neighbourhood place.
The best vet in the district, hands down. The vet has an evident affinity with animals and a lovely considered manner. His beautiful whippet Ren comes to work with him, which is a plus. The nurse is delightful and my pup and I drop in when we’re walking past so she can have a pat. Their prices are very reasonable and the service is far better .
A big tick to all the staff at the Kingsford Veterinary Hospital, not only have they looked after my Dog “Melli” when he was attacked by another dog, he is now 100% they also board him while we’ve been away on holidays and again Melli is 100%, he now even looks happy when I say “Doggie Holiday” to him. I’m always happy to recommend Kingsford Veterinary Hospital to others when their pets need looking after.

This is a Very Good Clean and modern Vet practice, they have a couple of consultation rooms, a fully equipped operating room to the rear and a good sized waiting room, where they often have a range of adoption cats or kittens in a run, which I always want to have one but my cat won’t have the competition, as he is very territorial.
They also have a vast range of foods, supplies, Worming and flea tablets from different companies, everything you could possibly want for your pet’s needs. We have been coming here for 7 years ever since Tristan arrived from Amsterdam, he has an annual check-up and loves getting into the travel carrier, I think he is secretly hoping to go back to Holland. Anyway they deal with him well and do a good thorough check and stamp his health passport. Being a pedigree British Shorthair from one of the best breeders in the Netherlands he certainly has attitude, but they seem to manage him well.
Always a pleasure. All the staff are professional, helpful and caring, and at the end of the day that’s really what you want in someone who’s looking after that other very important member of the family, someone with compassion and who loves animals.
My partner is always complaining that Tristan is treated better and loved more and I, reassuringly, with crossed fingers behind my back say “that’s not true”

I trust the team here to ensure our fury and four legged member of the family is healthy and happy. It is nice they send you a reminder postcard when Indi’s next check-up is due
For the last 22 years our dogs and cats have been patients at AMS, Although through the years our pets Shandy, Simba and Sheba have passed away, we were really happy and satisfied with the care and treatment they received.
Kahlua is our current dog and she is receiving excellent care at Alexandria Vets. She even loves just popping into the clinic for just a pat if we are walking past.”Testimonial from Shirley and Sue
We were approached from the staff at AMS because they were in urgent need of a blood donor and knew Pearl to be a young, healthy, large dog which meant she had lots of blood! She had to be lightly sedated to have the blood taken and then was bouncing around again within the hour. It was a really quick and easy process and I knew that Pearl was in good hands. It was such a rewarding feeling to know we had saved another animal’s life and Pearl even got a special certificate and lots of extra kisses and cuddles for helping out.”Testimonial from Pearl’s owners Ken and TR
Frankie first came to AMS for just a bit of sneezing but due to the thoroughness and diligent care of the Vets there, Frankie was quickly diagnosed with lung cancer and there was no delay in starting him on chemotherapy. The staff are not only good and what they do but are great people as well. I wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else!”

Pirate was behind the counter with his best mate Maria (the nurse at Alexandria Vets) and I was instantly smitten. We had been considering getting a friend for Poppy, and he was clearly the one. Someone had found his litter in the neighbourhood, and they were all very unwell. The wonderful doctors and nurses at AMS nursed him back to health, though his eye was so infected that he went blind. We brought him home on a trial for the weekend to see how Poppy felt about a friend. He wanted to play; though Poppy was not impressed. He was so sweet and was sleeping on my chest, playing with everything. There was no chance we were giving him back! We went in the next week to adopt him (Maria was sad to see him go!). The desexing, vaccinations etc were already organised and the only thing left was to surgically remove his eye when he was old enough. They did an amazing job with his eye and after several patient months, Pirate and Poppy became friends, and today they follow each other around the house and are happy to play together. And he is still the same sweet purring ball of fluff that he was as a kitten.”

We brought Dexter our Chinese Shar Pei puppy to AMS vet on his first day living with us and from that day we have benefited from the support and care of such a dedicated team. Dexter has had a few medical issues and with early diagnosis and referral for surgery his discomfort was limited, if it was not for such a passionate team looking after him it could have potentially been a longer process to get him healthy and back to his usual playful self. Once Dexter was discharged from hospital the vet phoned us to check how he was doing, a really heart warming gesture that did not go unnoticed. His first outing post op was a social visit to the girls at AMS Vet where we are always welcomed with open arms. Our cheeky puppy had an interaction with a bee that had us racing to the clinic just before opening time and without hesitation he was looked at and kept in for the day for monitoring. The team at AMS are always so ready to help and to explain what is going on I don‟t know what we would do without them!”
We would like to sincerely thank vets & nurses at AMS for saving the life of our beautiful almost 15 year old border collie ‘Bowie’. Last Saturday the 5th Feb in the 40 degree plus heat we had a BBQ with friends and their children and took our eyes off Bowie for about 10 minutes. When we realised he wasn’t hanging around we went to look for him and found him behind the pool having convulsions, his tongue hanging out and almost unconscious. We rushed him to the vet and they immediately went to work on him with fluids and Oxygen. The commitment and professionalism the two girls showed was incredible. We were told if we hadn’t gotten Bowie to the Vet immediately he would have died as he was suffering from heat stroke. Bowie is a much loved and wonderful part of our family and to loose him this way would have been heart breaking. It was a lesson to us from now on to make sure all our animals are kept cool. So to you most wonderful and dedicated miracle workers we can’t say anything but ‘thank you’ for having our boy back.”

My 6 year old Border Collie ‘Steele’ needed an operation on his leg when my baby was 3 weeks old, I had had a caesarean so was incapable of lifting Steele out of the car and with a tiny baby was struggling to cope. The staff at AMS Vet fitted Steele‟s check up appointments around my baby’s sleep schedule (and were incredibly understanding when we ran terribly late to appointments!) and helped by lifting him in and out of the car and even kept him over night in a cosy kennel to monitor his pain levels and ensure that he was healing properly. I would recommend AMS Vets to anyone who requires a kind, caring and competent service, where the needs of the animal comes first.”
